Welcome to Kathrine's and Mine's Cool Music Page. If you didn't get here from Our  Main Home Page then you might want to check that out too. This page is mostly links to other pages and just some info about Our own musical tastes. You might think Kathrine and I having been raised on opposite sides of the planet that we might like completely different bands but there are quite a few artists and groups we both like. Here are just a few of them:
 
 Spice Girls!!!!!  Spice up your life!!!!!!! Girl Power!!!!!!! Ok, if you don't like the Spice Girls then maybe you have missed their point. They aren't supposed to be taken as a serious classical musical movement only as good sugary Pop music fun. If you don't like them then you are probably taking yourself FAR too seriously!!!!

 Ol' Blue Eyes The Late Great Frank Sinatra defined coolness before anyone knew what cool was supposed to be. Nobody did it "His Way" more than Sinatra. The Chairman of the Board was kicking ass and taking names without apologies even into his later years. If you are in Love then it is against the laws of Nature for you not to like Frank Sinatra.

 Radio One This is Kathrine and mine's favorite radio station. It is Oslo's No. 1 radio station and luckily it broadcasts over the internet also so if you have  Real Player you can listen to it to. It is kinda comforting for Us to be separated by half a planet and still be able to listen to the same radio station. They also have a page in English if you don't speak Norwegian.

If anybody should have good musical taste it is Kathrine. She is in her own right an accomplished singer with a voice that could melt the heart of sternest philistine. Kathrine (like me) enjoys a little of everything. She has mellowed out in recent years but listens to everything from Metallica and L7 to Rosetta Mines (the gospel singer). I wanted to put a clip of Kathrine's singing on this page but she is far too modest to let me (I think the modesty is a Norwegian thing). Kathrine likes alot more Pop bands than I do and somehow she manages to picks songs and bands that I find myself singing along to. Here are only some of Kathrine's favorite bands and singers:

My musical taste are a little more on the fringes than Kathrine's. I like just about anything that I'm not used to hearing in music. I like all types of music (except Country and Western). You might notice that most of my links are to female singers or bands, that's because There is something in the female voice that touches a certain part of a man's soul that no man's voice can reach. Despite all these links My Kathrine is my all-time favorite singer. I sing too but unfortunately I sound like a wounded dog when I sing. Well here are only some of my links:
 Poe, The Mistress of Groove  Poe mixes the right amount of hard rock and groove to rock your body and enough melody and groove to move your soul. Her musical style is pretty uniue and this is an awesome web site. Check out the chat room here and you might just run into Kathrine or I (Katsukhan). Despite the slow loading chat this web site has enough memorable characters and powerful personalities to get you hooked.

 Goodness!!!!!  If you're not from Seattle you might not be sure who this band is but they are without question the BEST little known band out there. I first heard this band on the Schoolhouse Rock Rocks CD with their version of the song "Electricity, Electricity." Ever since then I have been HOOKED!!!!! If you haven't heard them then try them out! Everyone I have ever played their CD's for has fallen in love with them.

 Ani DiFranco, The Folk Singer  NO ONE writes lyrics like Ani DiFranco. Her music can only be described as folk music with a razor sharp edge. Her music makes you think and laugh and want to have fun. Their is a playfulness in her voice that instantly makes you think of her as a friend and at times just enough sadness to make you reflect on what she's singing about.
